My Journey: Finding Grace in the Overwhelm

Hi, I’m Julisa Zaragoza—daughter, mom of five amazing kids (two on the autism spectrum), caregiver for my aging parents, and relentless hope‑seeker.
Ten years ago I sat in a dimly lit ER hallway, juggling hospital papers in one hand and a half‑written grocery list in the other, wondering how on earth I could keep showing up for everyone I love without losing myself in the process.

That night I whispered a simple prayer: “Lord, give me grace for this overwhelm.”
What started as survival words became a life‑calling—one I now share with caregivers and parents who feel stretched past their limits.

Why I Created Grace for Overwhelm

  1. Lived Experience – I’ve navigated IEP meetings, medication changes, late‑night ER runs, and mountains of insurance paperwork. I know the loneliness—and the quiet victories—of caregiving.

  2. Hard‑Won Strategies – Through study, coaching certifications, and sheer trial‑and‑error, I built tools that turned chaos into rhythms: visual schedules, 5‑minute “grace pauses,” and faith‑anchored mindset shifts.

  3. A Call to Serve – My faith reminds me no one should face overwhelm alone. If God carried me through, He can use me to help carry you.

What I Believe

  • Empathy first – You’re more than a checklist or diagnosis.

  • Progress over perfection – Small, consistent changes beat one‑time overhauls.

  • Faith & practicality can coexist – Prayer and planners belong at the same table.

  • Community heals – Shared stories shorten the road to hope.
